Sasha Gladkikh is a UCLA graduate in Computational and Systems Biology. Her research combines bioinformatics and cardiovascular biology to characterize the molecular mechanisms underlying cardiovascular disease. In the Lusis Lab, she completed her Highest Honors thesis investigating how gut microbiota-derived metabolites attenuate abdominal aortic aneurysm progression. Her work has been supported by the Undergraduate Research Fellows Program, the URC-Sciences Summer Program, and the Honors Summer Research Stipend. Outside the lab, she enjoys playing tennis and golf and following Formula 1 racing.
